Your response to interviewers should last less than 2 minutes.
Most people get into long elaborations, without knowing that recruiters are pressed for time. Keep your answers crisp. For example, if there are 10 points you could speak about for a particular question, then prioritize the top 2 or 3 points in your response. If your interviewer wants more clarification on what you said, then let them follow-up. In such a case, take another 2 minutes or less for your elaboration.
On the contrary, you shouldn’t answer in monosyllable either. As a general rule, time your answers to last more than 1 minute, but less than 2 minutes. By doing this, you create a lasting impression with you interviewers, invariably increasing your chances for successive interview rounds.
