This question makes no logical sense. It is usually put forth in fresher interviews.
In this regard, the interviewer is trying to get a sense of your attitude, and your overall communication. As stated in our previous posts regarding interviews, remember that honesty is the best policy.
Answering your strengths is the easier part. However, link your strengths to the designation you are interviewing for, so that the interviewer knows you have researched about the company and job responsibilities. This will reassure them about your keen interest in the profile.
Regarding weakness, express something you genuinely don’t know, but keen on learning it. Give a real-life example, marked by truth. For example, if you invested in stocks and lost money, then express your weakness in market research, but you intend to get better with practice. Remember – talk about your weakness in general. It may not necessarily be associated with the job.
The more honest your expressions, then greater the respect you garner. This is the attitude teams look for because honesty empowers trust.
